BAS Controls Programmer/Engineer – Position responsible for the complete knowledge of the installation of new control systems and troubleshoot/repair of existing systems. Also a part of this position entails designing and implementing BAS control systems; commissioning control projects, communication of project schedules and progress to customers and graphics.  

Job Qualifications:

• A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering;  or tenured technician/programmer is acceptable.
• Demonstrated expertise in programming sequences of operation for large and complex central chilled water and hot water plants, built up air handlers, packaged units and zone level systems.
• Knowledge of an array of Building Automation Systems including Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Tridium.
• Comprehensive understanding of BACnet, ModBus, and LON protocols.
• Proven track record of high quality work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Visio)
• Knowledge of Microsoft7, Server2003 and TCP/IP networking are required.
• The candidate must have the ability to work with the customer ad find out what they want; then act upon these needs.  If it is not within the scope of the original contract the candidate needs to be able to recognize this and involve the Owner/Project Manager so there can be further negotiations.

Additional Skills preferred:

• Tridium AX certification
• The ability to read and understand programming languages such as Visual Basic, C++, HTML, etc. would be considered very desirable.
• PC Troubleshooting (i.e. A+ Certification or equivalent)
• Ability to implement and develop MySQL, XML, Linux, RSS, and Database
• Software Configuration and troubleshooting skills
• Database knowledge (i.e. Access and SQL 7.0)
• Good communication skills and the desire to deal with the public on a daily basis is a must.

Job Performance Responsibilities:

• Program advanced and optimized HVAC systems sequences of operation for Tridium systems, Computrols, ASI Controls, American Auto-Matrix, JCI and Honeywell systems.
• Migrate control systems from a stand-alone isolated building network to a multi-building wide area enterprise level network.
• Integrate control systems from multiple different system types into the common platform.
• Develop Building Automation System (BAS) specifications and design for control system upgrades and improvements.
• Perform functional testing of sequences of operation on HVAC and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair Building Automation Systems.
• Write field reports and technical reports.
• Manage multiple tasks with often overlapping and conflicting deadlines.
• Provide training and technical support and customer service to customers.
• Management of commercial temperature control projects including, but not limited to, estimating, design engineering, product ordering and project financial tracking.

Pay Grade: DOE 50,000-125,00 Salary Plus Incentives
